Creating or Mis-Creating
|
Creating or Mis-Creating: Who is responsible?
The ‘Law of Attraction' says that the energy we manifest through our thoughts, feelings and beliefs is what we also attract into our lives. This connects with the saying that "You are responsible for what you create". While all this is true, it is also over simplified and we tend to forget that every single human being on this planet is either creating or mis-creating their personal environment.
Mis-creating is when we manifest people or experiences into our lives that our conscious mind defines as bad or negative. This gives us a clue to what part of our psyche is the main ‘creator' or ‘attractor' of our personal experience/environment. It is the part that C. J. Jung referred to as our ‘Personal Shadow'. Our personal shadow is a conglomeration of all the ‘bad' aspects of our personality that we were taught from birth was unacceptable. As well as our own interpretation of hurtful/painful experiences and the beliefs formed from them. So we find ourselves in a world where everyone has a personal shadow and everyone is creating or mis-creating their own reality. If you step back to visualize this, it appears as a giant weaving of threads, some interconnecting, some seeming to go nowhere, some in chaotic array and some in poetic order, some colourfully alive and some darkly oppressive. So who is responsible for what and what does responsibility really mean?
Responsibility actually refers to the ‘ability to respond'; the key here is to know and understand yourself, which includes your personal shadow. This is being aware of thoughts and beliefs that do not work for you; in others words, which do not create joy and harmony in your life. When you are aware of something about yourself, which does not work for you, you have the ability to respond to it, by changing it. Therefore every individual is responsible for their own thoughts, beliefs, feelings, choices and behaviours that fulfil their choices.
No one is responsible for another's thoughts, beliefs, choices and behaviours. This means that if we experience any form of abuse or violence in our lives we are not responsible for that person's choice and action to hurt us; they alone are responsible for what they do. It is the same when people treat us with consideration, courtesy and love; they alone are responsible for what they do. So how does this work in with the phrase ‘you create your own reality' or ‘you are responsible for what you create'? This is where the ‘Law of Attraction' has its effect. What we feel, think and believe forms an energy current or field around our body that others, usually unconsciously, can sense or pick up. How they energetically read where you are at and what they physically choose to do with that information is their responsibility.
For example: Person A is walking down the street, they believe they are a vulnerable/weak person and that the world is full of nasty and mean people. Along comes person B, who has been taught that it is ok to pick on someone they perceive as weak. Person B sees person A, unconsciously senses their energy field and thinks to themselves ‘there's a weak person'. The idea or choice enters person B's head: ‘I would like to beat them up'. They then follow that choice into action, leaving person A bleeding in the street. In this type of scenario Person A is only responsible for the energy they put out that enables them to become vulnerable to another. Person B is responsible for their thought, choice and action/Behaviour. Person B holds three levels of responsibility to person A's one level of responsibility.
Person B had three opportunities to use their ‘ability to respond' to this situation:
- They had ‘ability to respond' to their first thought by dismissing it. Thereby making a different choice
- After recognising their violent choice, they had ‘ability to respond' to it by changing their choice and deciding that they did not have the right to hurt another person
- After beating person A, person B had ‘ability to respond' by recognising their Behaviour, feeling remorse and taking person A to the hospital
Person A on the other hand had one opportunity to use their ‘ability to respond' before attracting the possibility for this type of situation.
1. They had ‘ability to respond' to their beliefs about their self and people around them, by recognising them and changing them. Had their energy output been different, by believing they were strong or safe and that people always treat them well, it would have been unlikely for them to have attracted person B's attention in the first place.
This scenario shows that while we may have belief structures, thoughts and feelings that can attract unbalanced and hurtful experiences into our lives, we are not responsible for what others choose to do to us. We are responsible for our self, for how we perceive the world around us, for our own healing and for how we interact with our own environment and the people in it. Therefore it is important to recognise that it is not our fault when someone chooses to hurts us; it is from this point that one can begin to recognise their ‘ability to respond' and to heal.

Phillip Day's Seminar in Bendigo 2009
|
Phillip Day’s March Seminar in
Bendigo 2009
Background: Phillip is a health researcher & reporter; the head of the publishing and research organisation called Credence. The intention of Credence is to work with establishments and organisations concerned to resolve issues that are harmful to the public. It provides the necessary information for people to make their own informed choices. Phillip tours for 10 months each year doing seminars on different health topics. His aim is to keep people up-to-date with all aspects of health: drugs, diet, diagnoses, the effects of thought and exercise.
“Healing in the Home”:
This seminar covered many concepts, a lot of it I considered to be common knowledge, though other aspects came as a surprise. For example: bacteria is slowed from forming by 72 to 94% in rooms if the air is circulated and the temperature is kept at 21 degrees Celsius; an interesting fact that can aid us in reducing bacteria in our homes.
One of Phillip’s main areas of concern is cancer . He stressed that massive confusion exists in relation to this health problem; not all cancers are the same. Some people either forget or are not aware that there is a diet life-style, which is essential in reducing one’s susceptibility or increase of this disease. Phillip Day’s steps to fight cancer or to improve your general health include:
1. Hydration and Salt: 73% of the human body consists of salt and water. The key here is that we generally do not drink enough water. Therefore the majority of us are dehydrated. This means that the cells in our body are not being properly flushed, which enables a build-up of toxins in our system. We should drink half our own body weight in grams per day; this averages out to two to three litres. We also need to replenish the body’s salt content, as water will also flush this out. Phillip suggests that the healthiest salt to use is land salt that is rich in minerals; such as Himalayan Crystallized Salt.
2. Dietary Changes: eat mainly raw foods that are whole and organic. When having hot foods do not over cook them; al dente is best, as heat kills the vegetables natural enzymes. The ideal balance for a healthy body is 80% alkali and 20% acidic foods; our western diet tends to be in reverse. For those who love their meat it is best to avoid all forms of Pork meat, including ham and bacon. It has been suggested that the consumption of pork can produce acute bodily responses such as appendix and gall bladder inflammations, biliary colics, gastroenteritis and eczema. Avoid sugar as this helps to feed yeast infections and cancer. If you enjoy fruit, apples and pears are best as these have a low sugar-conversion when ingested into the body.
3. Supplements: certain health supplements can improve nutrition and help boost your immune system. Cancer has been linked to a vitamin D deficiency; it has been suggested to spend 20 to 25 minutes in sun light per day or 5000 units of a vitamin D supplement. Phillip’s book The ABC’s of Disease has a comprehensive guide to nutritional supplements. He suggests that a basic supplement program should include: B-complex, vitamin E (400 IU a day), Zinc (15mg am & pm) & Vitamin C complex (1 to 3 grams per day).
4. Exercise: Eating good food will help increase your energy; as will including daily exercise. Exercise also benefits you by increasing Oxygen absorption, which encourages red blood cell formation that enables healthy blood. A good exercise program will assist in cleansing the body, toning the body and ensuring that the body is working properly. This may be taking a daily walk and doing an hour in the gym twice a week.
Toxin Removal: Re-hydrating the body helps to flush out stored toxins. The first step in toxin removal is to check out your bathroom cupboard and discard the items that contain toxins; such as Aluminium (linked to Alzheimer’s disease), Fluorides (classified as a contaminant by the US Environmental Protection Agency), Sodium lauryl sulfate (its initial use was as an industrial degreasant and garage floor cleaner) and Talc (linked to ovarian cancer). These are just a few chemicals that can be found in the products we use on our hair and skin daily. In Phillip Day’s booklet Digestive Health, he list the benefits of detoxification and how you can cleanse your body.
6. Stress Management: this includes removing any destructive self-talk. In his book The Mind Game, Phillip talks about how what we think can either enhance or undermine good health. Therefore de-stressing is about thinking positively, relaxing the mind and the body.

Living in the Moment Part Two
|
Living in the Moment (Part Two)
By John Foley
The final paragraph of Living in the Moment (part one) talked about stopping your patterned reactions. Patterned reactions are our defence mechanism to our buttons when they are pushed; they may have, at some point in the past, proved to be a successful defence. Therefore we have repeated them and developed them into our patterned/conditioned reactions.
The simple techniques I am about to suggest are intended to help you in allowing yourself to be aware and to observe that this patterned reaction is happening to you; to allow yourself to be aware of your thoughts, feelings/emotions and even physical reaction, often manifested through body language.
Technique 1: Breathing
I am not talking about deep breathing as in relaxation methods. I am talking about becoming consciously aware of our breathing. The aim is to free our mind from turmoil and hone in on a single activity. Why would we want to do this? Because if we do not our less aware self via our patterned reaction will take control. First you need to physically feel your breath. In a calm, quiet place close your eyes; focus in on the hair follicles at the entrance to your nose and allow yourself to feel the air as it is drawn into your nose. You are now mindfully watching your bodily sensation of breathing. You are not controlling or thinking about it; you are simply observing. This observing is the essence to ‘living in the moment’. Once you are aware that you can watch your emotional and physical reactions you are capable of simply watching the feeling alone, ignoring (for the moment) other factors. There may be times when you will notice certain things about your conditioned self that you do not like. This is your opportunity to track down and understand the root cause of your patterned/conditioned reactions. This leads to Technique two.
Technique 2: Self-understanding
Be patient. Do not expect anything, do not strain, do not rush, do not cling or reject (let come what comes), do not dwell on differences between people or attitudes. Embrace differences, as your own view is never always accurate or inaccurate. Allow warm healthy feelings and good wishes to flow through you; be as a child that has not learnt to hide feelings. Do not hide your feelings from yourself; they can not catch you unawares if you know they are there.
Technique 3: Self-observation
As our life is one of motion we need to realise that there will be times when we will need to observe ourselves and move at the same time. This Exercise involves walking. Just 5 to 10 steps, then turning around and walking back (perhaps in a passage way). Notice your breathing as in technique 1 and focus on the feeling of your feet on the floor, tendons flexing as you step forward and the sensations of your body in motion.
This will not remove any emotions you are experiencing; it simply helps you to place them behind a glass screen, so that you can become aware of them, as you are aware of the sensations of your breathing and the sensations of your body in motion. In other words your emotions are not controlling you. Yes they exist, you can feel them and observe the way you are feeling; be it frustration, anger, hurt, unloved or misunderstood. The difference is you are seeing these things, which is a big step from reacting to them in the only way you have learnt: by sarcasm, emotional quips, insults or physical lash-outs.
My intention in writing this article was to help you to become aware that alternatives do exist; that you, can change, what you can observe.

Living in the Moment
|
Living in the Moment
By John Foley
My favourite film is 'Being There', starring Peter Sellers. This film is based around a simple, sheltered soul who sees all things in terms of nature (the Seasons), as well as the here and now. 'Being There' is relevant in that we live in a society where we spend our waking hours and some of our sleeping hours living in the past and/or planning for the future.
We, as social creatures, generally are not living in the moment and we do not allow ourselves to be there even in conversations with others. In these conversations we are looking at our reactions to the comments made by others and underestimate our brain’s ability to sift through the words, emotions and body language of the other person. By preempting, we move ourselves into the future at the expense of minding the present. The present, this moment is what is important; it will colour, provide direction and influence the outcomes of any future moments.
Using the last newsletter as a lead into this process I will look at observing thoughts. There is a difference between being aware of a thought and thinking a thought. It is subtle in that it relates to feelings and consequences. Being aware of a thought is like looking at a bubble; it floats but does not lead to other thoughts as does ‘normal’ conscious thought. It is this normal conscious thought, “thinking thought”, that leads to chains of thoughts, tension and muscular contraction. When thoughts start to have a physiological response we need to realise that this is not a “bad” thing, if we are aware that the thoughts are causing it. This is living in the moment, we acknowledge our feelings to ourselves, especially to ourselves. If we can do this then we are in a position to look at why these thoughts are having this effect on us; we are able to store the connection between these thoughts, their physical response and emotional reaction for later analysis. Later analysis is essential if we are to allow ourselves the opportunity to change.
In this later analysis we are able to be aware of the thoughts without letting the thoughts have a physical response or emotional reaction. The emotions can now be seen for what they are and they are not in a position to take control of our behaviour. You will be able to notice that no physical response has occurred because there will be no change in your energy vibration; calmness and introspection will be possible. Allowing yourself to live in the moment is essential if you are to see the connection between your thoughts, feelings and physical response. Even if the realization makes you feel unhappy, disappointed with yourself or ashamed, this is a positive thing - Do Not castigate yourself - celebrate that you have found a connection between a ‘Button’ and have created an opportunity to change your reaction to it!
The opportunity to do this has been created by allowing yourself to observe yourself, to be aware of your feelings and the triggers that are contained within all of us. The question you now need to ask is: “How do I stop my patterned reactions when these thoughts are triggered?” In other words what do I do when my “Buttons are Pushed”. The only response I can give you to this is by practice of some very simple techniques. In the next newsletter I will list a few techniques that may enable you to commence your journey of ‘living in the moment’.

Create and Manifest a Joyous Life
|
Create and Manifest a Joyous LifeEvery individual emits energy vibrations that effect their environment. These energy vibrations set the Universal ‘Law of attraction’ in motion. What we think about ourselves, how we feel about ourselves, what we expect of others and our perceptions of the world around us create the energy vibrations that we put out to the world. Our environment/world then reflects these vibrations, giving back to us what we have put out; this in turn supports our beliefs and feelings thus causing them to magnify. For most of us, all this occurs at an unconscious level and much of what we think/feel about our Self is also hidden within our unconscious mind.
One of the main keys to changing what we create in our life is to become aware of our thoughts; what are the patterns of belief and opinions that formulate how you perceive your Self, your environment and the people you associate with? For example: a person who loves them Self, believes that there are positive things in all situations and people, will see/feel the good within and around them, which will enhance their energy vibrations; this will then be reflected back to them. Contrary to this: a person who has low self-esteem and negative thought patterns emits this energy vibration drawing to them experiences and situations that fulfil these beliefs, entrenching them as a ‘truth’. If life continually gives us unpleasant or negative experiences this then not only
re-enforces any negative conditioning we have, but also becomes our ‘reality’. The same holds true for a person who genuinely loves their Self, sees good in everything and is grateful for their life experiences: their energy vibrations are loving and happy, which attracts more of what they put out. In this way they manifest a joyous life that is their ‘reality’. It is important to bear in mind that reality – hence what is ‘real’ – is dependant upon our own subjective view and is something that we can change!
Create Change:
- Observe your thoughts; if they are negative change them to a positive and repeat the positive thought in your mind seven times.
- Observe your feelings; if you are depressed or feel low, picture something that gives you a warm and pleasant feeling, then focus on that allowing yourself to be filled by these positive emotions.
- Look for something positive in every situation and person; it does not matter how small it is, and then focus on that positive aspect allowing the pleasant energy it creates to fill you.
- Last thing at night and First thing in the morning think of something that creates in you a warm and loving feeling; then allow that warm, loving feeling to grow, to fill you and expand it to surround you. In your mind give thanks for all the people and things you love and enjoy.
While these four keys to change can be challenging and may require patient practice, they will help you to create healthy loving energy vibrations within and around you, which in turn will attract more positive experiences into your life.

Meditation and Releasing Stress
|
Meditation and Releasing Stress
Meditation aids us in connecting with who we truly are and find a deep contentment that leads us to accept life as it is without clinging to desires or fears of change. It helps us to find our own inner balance and peace in which we can experience daily happiness; a state of being that is our birthright.
We tend to get caught up in our daily stresses or unresolved stresses, which lowers our immune system and makes us vulnerable to more stresses; we are then governed by mood swings, discontent, anxiety and/or lethargy. Meditating 15 minutes twice daily will help to lessen the effects and affects of the stressors in our daily life because it mentally releases stress and physically relaxes the muscles. If we hold a lot of tension in our muscles it makes us feel uncomfortable, increasing the effects of mental stress, which in turn effects our sleep patterns. Poor sleep produces more muscle tension, which then produces more mental stress.
One of the ways to stop this cycle is to find yourself a quiet place, where you won’t be disturbed. Wear loose clothing and make yourself comfortable. Begin by slowly breathing in and as you are breathing in focus on tightening all the muscles in your body; then as you slowly breath out release and relax your muscles. Do this three times; then turn your focus onto your breath. Imagine that the air you are breathing in, is pure white light and with each out breath that you are releasing all the stress and tension from your body. Visualise the white light that you are breathing enter your nostrils and fill your lungs. Feel your lungs become relaxed and your breathing become deeper. As you continue to breathe in the white light it flows from your lungs into your heart, creating a more harmonious and rhythmic heartbeat. Imagine your heartbeat pushing the white light, you are breathing, into your circulatory system; as your circulatory system becomes filled with the white light it begins to penetrate all systems of your body, starting with your toes and feet. Imagine that the white light saturates the bones, tendons and muscles of your toes, feet, ankles and calves; and that every where the light goes becomes soft and relaxed. Continue breathing in the white light and breathing out all stress and tension as you focus on moving up your body, saturating each body part with white light; your knees, thighs, hips, hip joint, intestines. Imagine that the white light travels up your spine saturating it and then fans across your back, around to your front, filling every muscle, tendon and bone, as well as all your internal organs; your whole torso is now saturated with the white light you are breathing and has become soft and relaxed. With your next breath send the white light across your shoulders and down your arms, filling them with the white light and allowing the light to ease away all the tightness and relax your shoulders, arms, hands and fingers completely. Feel the white light move up into your neck, saturating it and easing away all tightness; then like small firm fingers of light it massages all the tension from your scalp, forehead, cheekbones and jaw. Saturating your head, brain and face with harmonising white light energy and then fills your throat. Your whole body is now totally saturated with the white light and relaxed; notice that you are now both breathing in and breathing out white light. Imagine the light that you are breathing out forms a soft, nurturing cloud of light around you, and allow yourself to relax into this gently floating, cloud of light. Feel yourself become centred and at peace, drawing these gentle balanced energies into your body and being, you allow yourself to bring them with you into full consciousness, become aware of your physical surroundings, feeling yourself fully aligned with your physical body and at peace. Wiggle your fingers and toes; when you are ready open your eyes.
It is a good idea to record this meditation so that it is easier for you to master this technique. After you have done it a few times, it will become easier and quicker to do.

Energy Maintenance for the Home
|
Energy Maintenance for the Home
Due to some interstate enquiries on House Energy Cleansing I thought that “How to Cleanse the Energetic Atmosphere of the Home” would be a good topic for this newsletter.
Our home and work place, like us, picks up the energy vibrations emitted from the people living, visiting or working within the building. Since all solid structures are made up of atoms, protons and neutrons, they attract and store all emitted energy vibrations. The only thing, that I am aware of, which removes this stored energy is the House Cleansing Rite, but everyone can maintain the actual flow of energy and its build-up within the spaces they spend time in. In order to do this you will need to buy either a Grandfather Sage Smudge Stick or Charcoal and Frankincense resin; (available from Lotus Oils, Armstrong St. Ballarat). I personally find that burning Frankincense on a lit charcoal block a more powerful method to cleanse any heavy or discordant energies from a room’s atmosphere; though either method works well. The smudge stick is perhaps easier to use, as you only need to light the end of it, make sure its burning properly before you blow out the flame, allowing the smoke the of the Grandfather Sage to cleanse the area. To use Frankincense, you will need a small heat resistant plate or bowl, preferably with a handle so that it is easy to hold and your fingers won’t get burnt. The charcoal needs to be lit; I do this by holding the charcoal in metal cooking tongs over the gas flame of the stove, until it is glowing. Charcoal can also be lit while held over a candle flame; this takes longer to get it glowing, but if you don’t have a gas flame it is a good alternative. It is a good idea to have some dried earth or sand in the bottom of the plate/bowl to aid with heat absorption of the lit charcoal. The lit charcoal is then placed in your heat resistant plate/bowl on top of the earth/sand. When your charcoal is ready, place the Frankincense resin onto its centre, the Frankincense will then begin to produce a cleansing smoke.
With charcoal and Frankincense or smudge stick in hand, circle each room of your home or building, making sure your intent is focused on cleansing all heavy and discordant energies away from the space you are in. It is helpful to chant, either aloud or silently; “with Fire and Air I cleanse this room of all discordant, unhealthy and heavy energies; so mote it be!” This will work and you will feel a difference; the space will feel lighter and more harmonious. It is important that your intent is focused on cleansing the space; as this sends out thought energy waves that enhance the cleansing properties of the Frankincense or Grandfather Sage.
Note: If you are a Level II Reiki Channel, you can draw the Reiki power symbol in the four directions of each room and that will connect your space with the Divine Energies, filling the space with healthy healing energy.

Self Energy Clearing and Protection
|
Self Energy Clearing & Protection
During the course of our day we pick up energies from others, as well as store our own emotional experiences and thought process within our being. Some of these energies can become bound in our Aura &/or Etheric energy fields, making us feel heavy, lethargic, anxious &/or exhausted. Cleansing your being on a daily basis is an excellent way of aiding self balance and feeling energized.
Daily energy clearing/cleansing can be done either in the evening or first thing in the morning. One method is, when showering, visualize or feel that as you wash your body you are scrubbing all unbalanced energies, blocks and unwanted thought patterns from your body and being on all levels: physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual. See or sense the water as pure liquid brilliance and as it flows over your body, it also flows through your body. Imagine, as clearly as you can, the pure liquid brilliance is picking up all of the tired and inharmonious energies that you have unconsciously stored and is washing them out of your body and being through your feet; with your mind and full intent, state that these energies are neutralized as it leaves your body & being. When you feel, sense or see that your body and being has been cleansed, allow the pure liquid brilliance to fill you recharging and energizing your body and being. Then imagine that you are being coated with this pure liquid brilliance, forming a protective shield from all inharmonious external energies. If you can sense, feel or see this powerfully it will protect you from picking up and absorbing other people's moods and energies that are inharmonious to you.
It is generally a good idea to use pure liquid brilliance light as it is a harmonious unity of all the coloured rays of light. If you feel that you need to focus on a particular light ray, such as rich emerald green to connect with nature and healing, or rich blue light for relaxation and detoxification of stress then the same process can be used with transparent coloured light.
If you have never done this type of energy work before this process may take awhile and there will be layers of stored heavy energy that has built up over the years. All of this can be gradually cleansed from your body and being with a daily energy cleansing routine. The more often that you practice this, the easier and quicker this technique becomes.
There are other techniques/methods to protect your-self from external energies, as well as cleansing heavy and inharmonious energies from your body & being. I personally find that this method works extremely well. Let me know how you find it.
